*Tax Savings
*Some people may see a tax savings at first. In the long run, however, any individual eventually making $20,000 or more would see an increase in their taxes under the McCain plan. And ALL taxpayers who are part of a married couple would see an increase in their taxes under the McCain plan. For example, families earning $30,000 would receive a small tax cut in 2009, but they will be paying over $2,400 more in taxes each year by 2018.
All numbers and calculations come from the report 'John McCain's Radical Prescription for Health Care' by the Center for American Progress Action Fund, published July 2, 2008.
